"City by the Sea" - short doc about 1990's Atlantic City , Donald Trump and the grand opening of hs Taj Mahal Hotel/Casino that year.

Student film first created in 1990 about the impact of gambling in Atlantic City around the time of the opening of the Taj Mahal Hotel/Casino built by Donald Trump in the late 20th Century. Told thru the eyes of then 85-year old Adolph Raske, a long-time Atlantic City NJ resident, and my maternal grandfather.

Although I know Atlantic City had a dark history, I had no idea how complex until it's 1920's era was portrayed by Scorsese's amazing "Boardwalk Empire" series 20 years after I shot this study.

Stay tuned for an extended cut with never-seen before footage, including the opening of the Atlantic City Taj Mahal in 1990!!

By the way, this documentary was referenced in a 2016 Slate.com article during the now-historic 2016 US Presidential Election which put Donald Trump in the (other) White House - the White House in DC. As the old-timers told me in 1990 - "Who Knew?"
