Torrefied Sitka Spruce top. Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck. Traditional series build with hide glue, specialized bracing, and thin nitro lacquer finish. Ivoroid binding with herringbone purfling. Radiused Ebony fingerboard with “cut-diamond” inlays. 1 3/4″ width at nut. 2 5/16″ spacing at bridge. Nickel Waverly tuners hand-built in Montana. 25 1/2″ scale length.
The traditional series from Collings are consistently excellent guitars. We chose a Sitka spruce top on this one specifically because it will be warm sounding straight away. The combination of the traditional bracing/finish with the torrefied wood is quite astonishing and truly sounds like a guitar that has been broken in for some time. Furthermore, the traditional series come with cases built at the Collings factory that are superb.
* The guitar that’s in stock now is being used as a sample. This way we can show the guitar and take orders for the next OM-2HT guitars that are already on order and will arrive in the next few months. These guitars sell so fast, that it becomes a problem to not have them long enough to show people, so we will retain this guitar until a time that there’s another “sample” to take it’s place.

Engelmann Spruce top, Wenge back and sides, Mahogany neck. Very attractive exotic wood peghead overlay with wood binding and clever wooden truss rod cover. Bone nut. Appears to be Jacaranda fingerboard with abalone dots. Fingerboard is also bound with wood binding. Exotic wood bridge with boxed bone saddle. Ebony bridgepins with abalone dot. Solid wood bindings on top and back edge of body, on heelcap, endwedge, and in multi-center line in back of guitar. Wooden soundhole rosette. Open-back Pre-War style nickel Grover tuners.
This is one of the early guitars from the builder Wilburn Huckabee out of Sandpoint, ID. Warm, even tone.
Comes with hard case.

New guitar from an Idaho luthier, Joel Keefe Shoemaker. Alaskan Yellow Cedar top, Padauk back and sides. Mahogany neck, radiused Ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays. Very nice Padouk multiple wooden bindings on the top, back and sides, with multiple purfling lines seen on all quarters. Ebony bridge, slotted peghead with Ebony overlay and nickel Grover tuners. Very good condition. This fine instrument was made and presented to Bill Monroe in 1978 to help "mend fences" between Mr Monroe and the Gibson Company. He used this mandolin in many performances along with his famous Loar, predominately for special tunings such as "Get Up, John". When his 1923 Loar was vandalized and heavily damaged in the mid-'80's, Bill used it regularly until the Gibson Co. restored his F-5 Loar. At some point Mr Monroe presented this mandolin to a very close friend and law officer Bill Hawkins, who treasured the instrument. Mr Hawkins' family sold this mandolin to the late iconic Montana musician Walt Timmerman, who promised to always cherish it, and did until his passing. This mandolin is a part of bluegrass history, having been played by Bill Monroe for rehearsals, shows and recordings. This was authenticated on August 6, 2005 by Curtis McPeake of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, owner of Unique Instruments and personal friend of Mr. Hawkins (the authentication paper is included in the hard case). Nicely figured maple back, sides, and neck. Extremely tight grain spruce top with sunburst. Fern inlay in peghead, with The Gibson logo inlaid in pearl. Mandolin shows some lacquer checking and some incidental wear, with significant wear on the small pre-War style frets. Gold Schaller tuners with solid mother of pearl buttons. Engraved James tailpiece. Flat ebony fingerboard with traditional double-cut extension and pearl position dot markers inlaid. 1 3/32" width at mother of pearl nut. True to its name, the Professional model, is often bought and used by professional players, such as Peter Schwimmer from Portland, OR and our own Jack Mauer of Pinegrass and Larry Gangi Jr. Beautiful straight-grain walnut neck and resonator. Classic Prucha peghead with JPrucha logo inlaid and two inlay flourishes at top and center of peghead. Gabon ebony radiused fingerboard with stylized paralellogram abalone inlays. Ebony heelcap. Reverse bindings on top and back of resonator and along fingerboard. Black outer bindings with white-black purflings seen on top, back, and sides of resonator and side and top of fingerboard. Inlay block with Professional engraved at 19th fret. All nickel hardware, including Presto tailpiece and Prucha flange with peghead-shaped cutouts. Vintage-style two-band Schaller peghead tuners with matching Schaller 5th, all with pearloid buttons. Maple 3-ply rim with nickel Prucha flathead tonering. Currently has Renaissance head. This single-owner banjo has been played and loved with minimal wear. Frets have barely any sign of denting. Has all the depth of tone you expect from a Prucha banjo. Rock solid and stage-ready.
